Boy oh boy where do I start? Last year me and one other photographer had the idea to host a workshop / styled shoot. After talking about it over dm, we both totally forgot about it until I randomly DM her again months later and that’s when it all started! We added a third host and successfully hosted our first workshop called the “Dust & Darling Collective”. We had two styled shoots. One was a maternity session and the other was a western themed couple shoot. We started out very small with a total of six girls for the night. That evening was full of prayer, laughing, learning and a whole lot of picture taking.
All six of us girls have such a strong passion for photography and a deep love for the Lord. We started out with a prayer led by one of our other hosts, and then we jumped right into photographing our first model; the most gorgeous mommy to be. This was a linen style maternity shoot which turned out sooo dreamy. I am a sucker for creamy pictures and used a pantyhose over my lens for most of the shoot. Leah was super easy to work with, and baby girl was kicking the whole time! She knew how to kill every pose we put her in and truly had the best maternity glow.
Our second shoot was a western theme slow burn inspired couples shoot. The love that this couple has for each other spoke right through all of our pictures. Can you believe this couple has only been together a couple months!? This couple was also super easy to work with and nailed all of the poses we had in mind. And can we just talk about the matching cowboy boots; it made for the perfect western theme shoot.
